On 09/05/2013 Officer Lawrence responded to the Haven High School for a
report of criminal damage. Graffiti was found on the high school
On 09/05/2013 Officer Lawrence arrested Shane Pitman for driving while suspended.
On 09/08/2013 Detective Rush took a report of a hit and run in the 100 block of North Reno Street.
On 09/14/2013 Officer Lawrence arrested Michael Doty for DUI.
On 09/25/2013 Chief Pell took a report of a burglary at 312 E4th
Street. A Garmin GPS and keys were taken from a vehicle at the
On 10/02/2013 Chief Pell and Officer Lawrence began investigating
alleged threatening messages sent between two juveniles. One
juvenile has been charged.
On 10/03/2013 Officer Lawrence cited Roberta Pogue for failing to report an accident and leaving the scene.
On 10/06/2013 Detective Rush opened an investigation into alleged
sexual exploitation of a juvenile in Haven. Michael Gimple was
taken into custody in Hutchinson by Chief Pell and Detective Rush on
the 8th of October.
On 10/07/2013 Chief Pell responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at
108 Sedgwick Place. Kevin Shive reported his 2005 Ford F150 had
been stolen from his residence.
On 10/10/2013 Chief Pell charged Sophia and Stephen Montaldo with felony theft.
On 10/12/2013 Officer Lawrence and Officer Campbell responded to a
runaway at 410 E 4th Street. The Juvenile is believed to be in
the Wichita area.
On 10/12/2013 Officer Lawrence and Officer Campbell responded to a
welfare check at 110 E Main Street. Officers made contact with a
reportedly distraught individual. Officers ascertained everything
was alright with the person and left the scene with no action taken.
On 10/15/2013 Chief Pell took a report of a stolen vehicle at 110 E 1st Street Cottage F.
On 10/18/2013 Chief Pell took a report of a criminal use of a financial card.
On 10/27/2013 Officer Lawrence arrested Leonard Piontkowski on suspicion of domestic battery.
On 10/31/2013 Officer Vasquez took a report of a lost/stolen Drivers License.
On 11/02/2013 Detective Rush took a report of found property at 100 Industrial in Haven Kansas.
On 11/02/2013 Detective Rush cited Leah Corwin of Wichita for disorderly conducted at 312 E Main Street in Haven.
On 11/04/2013 Officer Vasquez took a report of criminal damage to property at 114 S Reno Ave.
On 12/03/2013 Officer Lawrence took a report of criminal threat. No case was filed.
On 12/05/2013 Detective Rush took a report of harassing/prank phone
calls at 106 S Emporia Street. Suspect was using an Internet
calling service and appeared to be out of state in an unknown location.
On 12/16/2013 Chief Pell took a report of fuel theft from Mid Kansas
Coop. Fuel was stolen from a parked vehicle at an unknown date
On 12/19/2013 Chief Pell took a report of several occurrences of a
criminal use of a financial card, felony. Chief Pell investigated
and found Colt Ray Hoeck of Sawyer Kansas to be the suspect.
Multiple cases were filed and sent to the County Attorney's
office for prosecution.
On 01/05/2014 Officer Lawrence and Chief Pell responded to a call of
disorderly conduct at 109 N Topeka Street. Victim has refused to
testify and no charges were filed.
On 01/10/2014 Detective Rush worked a hit and run accident that occurred
at the Haven High School during a basketball game. James D.
Branson's vehicle was struck by an unknown subjects vehicle in the rear
passenger door causing the door to be damaged.
On 01/10/2014 Detective Rush served an arrest warrant for failure to appear on a Hutchinson Warrant.
On 01/12/2014 Detective Rush and Chief Pell responded to a domestic
disturbance at 218 N. Emporia Street. The investigation found no
instance of battery had occurred so no arrest was made.
On 01/15/2014 Detective Rush recieved a complaint of phone
harrassment/criminal threat from a subject in Garden City Kansas.
It was found the suspect was not living in Haven nor had the
calls come from Haven. The information was passed on to
Hutchinson PD and Garden City PD. No charges were filed in Haven.
On 01/16/2014 Chief Pell took a report of an attempted Juvenile
Runaway. The juvenile was returned home and no charges were
On 01/21/2014 Detective Rush accompanied a Hutchinson PD Detective
during an interview conducted in Haven with a Haven Resident.
Their is no local case filed.
On 01/22/2014 Officer Lawrence took a report of theft of gas from Kwik
Shop. Suspect left his ID with Kwik SHop and failed to return to
pay for the fuel. Kwik Shop has declined prosecution.
On 02/01/2014 Officer Lawrence took a report of an aggrevated burglary
at 220 N Kansas ST. Items reportedly taken from the residence
include a tool box containing tools, a carpet stretcher, and a battery
charger. The victim stated he was at the residence at the time of
the burglary but did not see the suspect.
On 02/03/2014 Detective Rush took a report of a criminal damage to city
property located to the north of the Haven Grade School at the 300
Block of East 5th Street. An unknown vehicle struck a guard rail
causing damage to city property and then left the scene without
On 02/14/2014 Officer Lawrence took a report of an auto burglary that
occurred on the 11th at the Haven High School. Items taken from
the car included a drivers license, bank cards, check register and the
On 02/19/2014 Officer Lawrence took a report of a non injury auto
accident near the intersection of Main and Kansas, on Kansas Street.
One driver was cited for innatentive backing.
On 02/25/2014 Officer Lawrence took a report of a non injury accident
at 210 W. 5th Street. The vehicle and city property were damaged.
On 02/28/2014 Officer Lawrence took a report of criminal damage to
property. The victims front door appeared to have been shot
multiple times with what appeared to be a bb gun. At this time we
have no other information.
On 03/01/2014 Officer Lawrence responded to a battery call involving a
Juvenile and an adult male. The adult male was cited for battery.
On 03/02/2014 Haven Police was alerted to a criminal use of a financial
card at the Kwik Shop. Multiple suspects used stolen credit card
information to purchase fuel. The investigation is ongoing.
On 03/03/2014 Detective Rush began in investigation into allegations of
a sexual assault that occurred in the city of Haven in 2012.
On 03/07/2014 Detective Rush cited Clarence Halfman for harboring a vicious dog and allowing it to be at large without a leash.
On 03/08/2014 Detective Rush worked an auto accident with damage under $1000.00 on private property.
On 03/12/2014 Detective Rush took a report of Agg. Burglary and
Criminal damage to property. Kerry Potter was charged with the
On 03/20/2014 Chief Pell cited Kerry Potter with driving while suspended and having an expired tag.
On 03/21/2014 Detective Rush and Chief Pell responded to a call of an
unattended juvenile male walking on Hutchinson Street. The
Juvenile was placed into protective custody within Reno County.
On 03/21/2014 Detective Rush worked an auto accident that had occured
near the baseball diamond, both parties had left the scene and later
called to report it.
On 03/30/2014 Officer Campbell worked a dog bite in which a juvenile was bitten by the family dog.
On 03/30/2014 Officer Campbel and Officer Vasquez responded to a call
regarding a stolen/lost Iphone belonging to a juvenile. The
device was not located.
On 04/26/2014 Detective Rush took a juvenile into custody on charges of
battery on a Law Enforcement Officer. The juvenile was charged
with two counts stimming from a runaway that turned into an altercation
with two Haven Officers when they were located. The Juvenile was placed
into youth detention in Reno County.
On 04/30/2014 Detective Rush and Officer Salmans assisted Reno County
Sheriff's Detectives on a phone harassment case involving juveniles.
On 04/30/2014 Detective Rush and Officer Salmans took a report of
disorderly conduct involving a juvenile at the Haven High School.
No charges were filed.
On 05/04/2014 Detective Rush and Officer Salmans assisted Sedgwick
County Deputies with a custody dispute involving residents of Haven and
a resident of Sedgwick county. The incident was handled without
On 05/06/2014 Detective Rush and Officer Salmans recovered a stolen
vehicle from Hutchinson and arrested Nicole Jefferies. Miss
Jefferies was turned over to the Hutchinson Police Department for
charges out of Hutchinson. No local charges were filed.
On 05/06/2014 Officer Salmans took a report of criminal damage to
property belonging to the city of Haven. Several windows at the Haven
Swimming pool were found to be broken.
On 05/12/2014 Chief Pell cited a juvenile for simple battery for assaulting another juvenile.
On 05/22/2014 Chief Pell took a report of a possible identity theft Scam.
On 05/25/2014 Officer Salmans took a report of a dog bite involving two
loose dogs and a juvenile child. The child suffered injuries.
The owner was cited for harboring vicious dogs and allowing them
to be at large.
On 05/26/2014 Chief Pell took a report of criminal damage to property
at the Haven Grade School. A glass door was reported broken.
Juvenile suspects are being sought.
On 06/03/2014 Officer Salmans took a report of a burglary.
On 06/04/2014 Detective Rush took a report of a criminal use of a
financial card, theft of services and fraud at the Haven Kwik Shop.
On 06/14/2014 Detective Rush and Officer Salmans took a report of
trouble with subject in the 100 block of Sedgwick. The subject
was not located but was later advised of criminal tresspass.
On 06/15/2014 Officer Campbell took a report of burglary in the 200
block of Reno. Several hundred dollars worth of quarters were
taken from a residence.
On 06/18/2014 Detective Rush took a report of vandalism to a local business.
On 06/18/2014 Detective Rush arrested Lawrence Belshe of Wichita in the
400 block of E 4th ST for Assault, and Possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 06/19/2014 Detective Rush arrested Shari Brent for battery at 410 E 4th ST.
On 06/21/2014 Officer Salmans took a report of disorderly conduct in the 200 block of N. Kansas Street.
On 06/24/2014 Chief Pell and Detective Rush assisted KHP with an abandonded/wrecked Motorcycle near Rayl Road and K-96.
On 06/24/2014 Detective Rush arrested Brandon Bussard for disorderly conduct in the 200 block of N. Kansas Street.
On 06/24/2014 Detective Rush took a report of an auto burglary on 2nd Street.
On 06/26/2014 Chief Pell and Officer Salmans arrested a Haven resident
on a Rice County Warrant and transported them to Reno County Jail.
On 06/29/2014 Officer Campbell placed a juvenile female into protective custody.
On 06/29/2014 Officer Campbell took a report of domestic battery that occured days prior.
On 07/06/2014 Officer Salmans initiated a traffic stop which resulted in an arrest based on an RNSO warrant.
On 07/17/2014 Chief Pell responded to a concern for welfare and took the person to the Hospital in Hutchinson.
On 07/28/2014 Chief Pell took a case of Agg. Battery and child in need
of care case. Charges were filed against the suspect.
On 07/31/2014 Detective Rush took a report of criminal use of financial card, the case was forwarded on to Cameron Missouri.
On 08/02/2014 Officer Salmans arrested Delmar Beachy for domestic battery, Tricia Regier was also cited.
On 08/28/2014 Detective Rush responded to an intentional overdose in
the 200 block of N. Topeka. A male was transported to the
Hutchinson Emergency room and held for observation.
On 09/05/2014 Detective Rush took a call regarding criminal use of a financial card.
On 09/08/2014 Chief Pell took a case of Theft by deception. Chad Benoit was charged with the crime.
On 09/26/2014 Chief Pell responded to a call of a young skunk on South
Wichita ST. No action was taken. The skunk is not rabid.
On 09/26/2014 Chief Pell wrote a citation for dog at large.
On 09/29/2014 Detective Rush picked up a loose dog.
On 09/29/2014 Detective Rush and Chief Pell investigated a single car
accident involving a metal pole at the Haven Swimming Pool.
On 09/29/2014 Detective Rush took a theft report. The theft took place over the weekend and involved stolen trailer lights.
